e.l.f Studio Duo Shadow and Liner Stick

I bought all the colors during a sale for $1.50 each. I was very pleased with them. This is my second shadow stick product, the first being Cover Girls Smokey Eye Stick which was hard/waxy, little to no color payoff and faded in minutes.

Pearl/Glow
Glow defiantly did not have pink tones like what I saw on the website. It's pretty much an off white beige with a  pearl finish with specks of glitter. I was weary of it being both white colors, but I love it!
The shadow part is a GREAT color for highlighting the inner parts of the eyes, cupids bow, and face highlight. It's my favorite out of the bunch. I like it more than elfs all over color/shimmer sticks, shimmer pallete ect.
Basic/Brown
I was expecting more of a buttercream than a buttery gold. It's a nice color, very pearly. I like soft golds. The liner is metallicy but not too much.
Really soft and but smudges. Fades and is really glittery.
The texture is decent. I plan to play around with this more.

Smoke/Black

Dark grey with lots of shimmer and pearl. Feel's oiler than the other colors and faded the fastest on me, yet "stained" my skin in a way. The liner is matte and smudges, however I find it lasts longer than the other eyeliners I've tried from elf.

Pros:
True to color(Exception being "Glow")
Pigmented
Lasted me a good 3 hours.
Non-creasing
Better than I expected

Cons
Smudges/ messy
Finish has glitter while being pearly or metallic
"Smoke" faded into oil.
Not much product

e.l.f Essential Plumping Lipgloss

I bought these in nearly all colors, and frankly they are almost all the same color! All are either shimmery/metallic/glittery, I did not expect that. I'm still trying to figure out which one I like, however the clear plumping gloss smells terrible.

Just got in the first part of my elf order. Plenty of nail polishes, studio and mineral lip balm, shadow sticks, and mineral eye shadow, soon to be reveiwed.

e.l.f Makeup Mist & Set

With Aloe, Green Tea and Cucumber.
I've heard countless people complain about how it smells. Honestly I didn't smell anything!
However I did not notice it making any different and the spray is not a mist, it sprays. it says to hold it out 10-12 inches away from you face, but still took off some on my makeup.
This is from the studio line($3) and I bought this on sale.

Would I reccomend this? Nope!
I will, however, continue to use this and see if my opionion changes.

Elf Essential $2 Blush in Flushed

As you can see its a pinky pink. It might be a little ashy on darker skin tones. This came in a kit I got, and I kinda like it. It's texture is really powdery and kinda messy, but blends well.
This was my first blush from elf's essential line, so I can't really compare it to what they had before. Seems like it's the same(I have used blushes in their pallets) except much better packaging, and includes a mirror and brush.

This is how it looks as a swatch. You can see ho nicely it blends :D It's kinda was a pearly satin finish but looks matte after applied. It can feel a little heavy and even oily despite being a powder.

e.l.f Beauty On the Go Pallets

I bought 3 of the pallets and the 3 pallete case.

The case arrived cracked in half! I emailed customer service, and got a replacement! They've been very good in the past about reshipping my orders. Very prompt and fast.

The three colors I bought were

Tuscany Retreat

Day on the beach

Pretty picnic

The colors were not pigmented and had a horrible texture! I am SO glad I didnt buy a haul from Target! They are very true to color on the site. The blush/bronzers are a nice touch, so for $1.50 each it wasnt too bad. Not sure what I am going to do with a yellow blush though. The lip colors arnt even worth mentioning.

I wondered what would happen if you didnt buy a case but it comes in a thin plactic container, so if youre really cheap and dont use it on the go you can keep it in that!

When applied wet, these colors are amazing! Though it kinda defeats the "on-the-go" if you need to use water.

The small case is very hard to open. I have to use a bobby pin or tweezers to get it open. The mirror does get dusty from the eyeshadows.
Elf 11 peice makeup brush collection

Ive bough better/denser brushes that included more brushes for $20 and $30.
I bought this on sale once for $3(so with shipping that made it near $11) and again for $15
A lot of the brushes included are way to small to use! Though it's rediculously soft <3 I see myself using only 5 of the brushes included though. The brushes were shaped in a "flat" way, probably to make it affordable and dense.

Eyeshadow "C" Brush - A very nice brush. Softer than the Essential line and has not shed for me, even after washing. I use this brush often.

Complexion Brush - I use this for blush and powder foundation. Very soft, pretty dense. Haven't decided if it's my fav or not. It's never shed for me and is still soft after washing.

Small Angled Brush - A nice angled brush, I use this for filling in my eyeliner or lining my eyes.

Small Smudge Brush - Nice for lips IMO but I have different brushes I use, this is a tiny brush.

Fan Brush -  Small fan, I really like the size. It's not dense, nor is it too thin.

Blush Brush- So cute! its soft and pretty dense. It's small-ish.

Angled Foundation Brush - I dont really use brushes like this. But it's really dense!

Concealer Brush - Too small for me.

Small Precision Brush - Don't know what to use it for, I sometimes try to apply lipstick with it, but I mainly use the tube anyway.

Powder Brush - I have a better brush for buffing, but this brush is pretty nice.

Contouring Brush - for your eyes. It's to hard in my opinion.

e.l.f. Studio Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Warm

This was a product I've had my eyes set on for a long time! The colors are beautiful, though some are extremely powedery/hard to work with and some not pigmented at all! I bought this on sale for $2.50 instead of the full $5.

It's full of taupe, pinks, neutrals, warm purples, and gorgeous browns and blacks; with a variety of pearls, shimmer, mattes and glitter.

I will list the colors as the appear vertically, from left to right.

First shade is a white. It's the only shade of white in this pallet. It was EXTREMELY hard to use and not really pigmented. Matte.
Nude Taupe. Silky but faded quickly for me. Very nice color though. Matte.
Neutral Rosy Pink. Matte with flecks of glitter. Powdery, but cute color.
Appears to be a smokey grey, but when swatched came out a beautiful Taupe Purple-Brown. Pigmented, matte, gorgeous.
---

First shade is a Matte Yellow. A little hard to work with and slightly powdery, not that bad
A Tan-ish Taupe is next. Silky and Matte. Also pigmented, great for contouring.
Peachy Light-Taupe, Silky, Matte.
Dark Brown Color. Very pigmented and powdery. Matte. Messy

---

Very light nude peach. Silkier than the white.
Light brown with orange tint. Slight glitter.
Rosy taupe. Matte
Grey Taupe. Silky Matte.
---

Nude

---

Light Taupy brown with flecks of glitter.
A red-clay brown. Matte.
Shimmery Brownish purple.
Smokey dark plum.
---

Silver - I've seen better from elf. Shimmer.
Another medium taupe brown with glitter
Bueatiful shade of pearly-shimmery red-plum. Too made its so powdery adn messy
Smokey matte grey with flecks of glitter
---

Taupey Silver - Glitter/shimmer. Dry.
Light Brown - Matte
Purple - Matte
Smoke Grey- Matte, not that pigmented.

Taupey/gold-Purple - Hard to work with/ dry. Glitter. Nice shade.
Taupe Light Brown - Matte
Purple - Matte. Pigmented.
Black - Matte. not intense, messy/smudges.

Would I reccomend this? Yes. You get a great variety for only $5 in a beautiful pallet.

Hiatus

Sorry for the hiatus! Somebody borrowed my camera and forgot where they left it! It's found now and I promise to have the updates flowing smoothly again soon!

e.l.f. Studio Mini Makeup Collection

They had this on sale and I wanted to try it once upon a time ago... So I got it and was very impressed! The lip shades are a little bit nicer than the Studio Clutch but still that "pallet" quality. Thankfully, many of the colors can be used as a cheek tint! The colors are nicely pigmented and the bronzer less orangey than the other studio pallet. The cream eyeshadow is more of a shimmer all over highlighter.
No idea why they included a light "brow powder" It'd be better if they had the brow gel or mini-mini face sponge for the blush/bronzer. I can see the complaints about the drawers getting stuck, it happend to me when i went to close it.
I bought this on sale for $7; they sometimes give it out free.
The color variety isn't great. Neutral toned shadow and smokey greys on the second row for a nice transition to night. Mainly red lip colors.

e.l.f Warm and Light Starter kit

Nice! I got these both half off($10 each) So far so good, the brushes are even decent!

(I will reveiw color shades
blush shades)

The coral(light kit) on the website looks darker than what is really is. Its very light and barely shows up on me, which is fine since I like a sheer blush.

I've used a mineral foundation and blush in the past.

I believe it was Loreal, i hated the way the brush was positioned, but the coverage was nice. I LOVED the blush, though the foundation was heavy and sometimes burned this one side of my face.

The second was my friends Bare Minerals. It as nice, but nothing I was crazy over.

However, I was crazy about elf's mineral line for the face. This is so light and airy and had nice coverage.
It did NOT settle in creases nor appear powdery on my face! I have dry and oily skin and this... WOW.
My face didn't look flaky either.

Elf Natural shadow compact

The mirror in it is definatly usable.  The colors are pigmented but chalky/powdery.
Similar colors are of the new bronzed eye beauty book, butternut brightning eyeshawdow quad, and the 5 peice eye set.

I will do a comparison on them

New elf bronzed eye 3 peice beauty book

TERRIBLE! They changed out the foam interior for CHEAP PLASTIC, definalty cant take this around with you. Also, they changed the sleek tiny magnet for a cheap band (it can tear, and then what?!)

The eyelid primer is a smaller size that whats sold on their site and the consistency is different. It is more oily and is chunky.
The light gold is terrible, its chunky and doesnt blend and powdery.
The gold is nice, albeit messy. The brown has orange undertones, something I think is ugly(reminds me of spray tans).
The nude is matte with large cheap flecks of glitter. The brown has ORANGE glitter and the black is powdery and messy.
You can see how powdery and messy this stuff is in the swatch picture.

My thoughts :They added in a mirror, but really? Add in a primer and mirror then take away pigment and conveinient pakaging? I've never been so dissatisfied with anything! What a rip off! I definatly do not reccomend this product! Don't buy!

Edit: The black seems to have brown undertones, and is actually really pigmented.

*NEW* elf lotion wipes
WOW! When I first saw these I thought a mini bottle of lotion would be easier on the go! Lotion wipes? I bet they will be cheap, smell funny and promote trash.

Well, I wish I bought more! Lotion can be a good makeup remover, and this was sooooo soft, the wipes look like cotton fiber and its not greasy or wet at all(edit: First 5 were not wet, the rest was but it's not sopping wet)! It smell is nice, coconut-vanilla, not too strong. As soon as I pulled this out I thought, wow, this is perfect for when a kid needs to wipe something off of their chin or shoulder or hands!(I don't have my own kids btw)
I use this a lot to wipe off muck/grease/dirt, removing makeup(lips, eyes, swatches) and also wiping off my feet! I hate the way lotion feels on my feet, but this dries so quickly and leaves my feet feeling soft!

Defiantly see myself buying more of these in the future! EDIT I bought a huge haul of these on sale
~
Edit:
*It's been opened for a week and it's still moist!*
They also have new scents - Honey, Cucumber Melon, and Mango! Just ordered more!

e.l.f. Essential Blush & Bronzer Set

The kabuki was softer than i thought but still rough on the face. Its tiny too! >:(

The ferrule is plastic and not rounded off, so once when i was using it i scraped my face!

The duo doesn't seem that much better than the studio blush/bronzer, it technically is more pigmented but it is also more powdery. It should be mentioned that it is less glittery that the studio line.
Elf Studio Stippling Brush

This had bad reveiws!?
I've never had a stippling brush, but this brush is awesome! It looks funny and isn't dense but for $3 its worth the price (I got it on sale for half off) If you're new to stippling brushes or would like to try one out I definitely recommend it! I've washed it properly and have had no shedding at all!

Elf Studio Clutch Pallet

At first when I got this I thought, "Wow!"

After swatching it I was like, "Okay"

I swatched them dry with a brush applicator, later I'll swatch them with a sponge applicator and do another swatch with it wet.

The picture is pretty true to color on their site, 'cept the turquoise is so much brighter and beautifuler.
I'm not sure if I'd recommend this or not, I wanted it to travel with, but it seems too fragile to carry around everywhere. The colors are not that pigmented either. The bronzer has orange undertones, so unless you're tan, its useless.

I knew the lip colors would be useless, though I didn't think it'd be that bad! It applies extremely uneven, has a horrible texture and drys out your lips! Also, it has almost no color and doesn't last even 30 mins! The highlight color is oily and you can barely pick any of it up, with your finger or with a brush or sponge!

~
Also, for being "on the go" there's only sponge applicators. They should get rid of the lipgloss and add a face sponge applicator or move the highlight there and space out the blush/bronzer.

Switching out one of the sponge applicators for a small brush applicator or a small angled liner(like whats included with the cream liners) would benefit greatly. There's nothing included to apply your brow gel/powder. A liner brush would also benefit so you can apply the powder as a liner(since eyeliner is not included in the kit)

Something to note is the case also gets dirty fast! I've grabbed it a few times and it looks all messy! Might be all the lotion on my hands but it's tat kind of plastic :/

I bought this on sale for $7 instead of the full $15, and I guess it's alright. It's quite powdery and has a lot of talc.

Elf also gives this away as a freebie with a code, or free shipping... In case you're interested in this product.

*NEW* Elf 4 Piece Nail Polish Set

(From their website, mostly true to color)

Elf's new addition to their Spring 2012 collection includes:

Coral Dream (A peachy orange)
Flirty Fuchsia (A pink with orange tones)
Party Peach  (An orangey pink, less red than picture)
Smokin' Hot (A pink red, not a 'real' hot pink, less red in picture, but a wearable red)

Ugh... I know I am new to Elf's nail polishes but this was a HUGE disappointment! Looking at the jars you can see distortions/warps in how the glass was formed, the lids also twist rougher than the older ones and also don't twist into place!ALL of the colors I received were watery, making it very hard to apply without streaking! The worst and watery-est was Coral Dream. I bought this on sale making it out to be $2.50 instead of $5. I would NOT be paying full price for any of these colors. The Flirty Fushia was similar in color to Bubble Gum, only less bright. I'd get Bubble Gum instead of the watery Flirty Fushia.

(Party Peach, Coral Dream, Flirty Fuchsia, Smokin' Hot)

Oh and the packaging was adorable! I saved the backsplash to use on my shelf(where I keep some of my makeup)

*EDIT*
Turns out I had a bad batch. My friend did my nails and she had this set. They were still watery but not clear like mine. I am thinking about contacting elf about this. The Coral Dream is a very cute peach. Hopefully if I order again I won't get another bad batch :/

Elf Dual Mirror Compact

I've read reviews on the mirror being small. Yes, you can get bigger mirrors for just a $1, but this duo mirror has a magnified side, not magnified by that much,(thank goodness! I hate seeing my pores!) It's just enough to get a better look at yourself. I bought this for $1.50, lucky me :D
The case matches everything else in the elf studio line, so if you much have everything matching this is great! And its not unusable small, its more of a medium.

Elf Beauty cases

Train Case. MUCH smaller than what I thought I'd be! I bought all of them for half off, so it was worth it. The pleather feels so thin like it'd wouldn't survive long. Hopefully it does! I bought one in each color plus an extra one in black. The burgendy color my dad liked when he saw it,but i was expecting something with more color and less gray.

Dump Case. TOO TINY! It's sooooo flat. I bought extra to store usbs in. It'll do that but its soo tiny! (edit* will see if it fits in elf palelts)

Cluch. I knew itd be small. lets see how much fits in there

Organizer looks better in the video. It's nice though

organizer nice. not great though'

I had my eyes set on these cases for a long tim. glad they were on sale! Though I would NOT buy these full price for how fragile they seem (unless it lasts a long time, which i will see) and how small these are. These would make a nice gift I suppose, but for me, I like there being more room to contain stuff. The pros is that the makeup train case in black looks unisexual, so my dad can carry his medications in there (yes, a traincase of all his meds and inhalers) without looking metro or lugging around a backpack(and if he wants the backpack he can have them neatly in a case so they dont fall out any where and can be placed back in his room)

Elf Studio Kabuki Face Brush
Wow! I'd had kabuki's in the past costing much more, and I say, Elf's kabuki is the best! It is the softest brush I've ever felt! (btw I buy my brushes from Coastal Scents)
I bought this on sale for $3USD, but I must say that buying this for the full price of $6 is totally worth it! My only complaint is that there s no real case for it and the bottom is slightly rounded(preventing it from standing up on its own without a support) The picture is true to color and the bristles are as pictured.
I was afraid of the brush being small and unable to work as a real kabuki, thankfully I was wrong.
My first time use there was absolutely no shedding. I have yet to wash it.

Just got the rest of my packages! It was a huge order of their mineral lipstick, new hd powder and the two new essential pallets (get the look - with blush and lipstick, and 100 piece - spring with the spotted colors)

I cant decide what to review first!
Nail Polishes!

I got three nail polishes in the Elf Essential Gift Pack:
Bubble Gum, Light Pink, & Clear

 From their website

Bubble Gum is more of a "Barbie Pink" with slight purple undertones when applied(bottle look so much nicer than it really us :/). I only needed one coat to be opaque!  It is a very girly color, which is not my thing, but if your into colors like that then I'd recommend it. It streaks a bit but it is manageable. At first I hated this color but my bf loves it. It is brighter than what they have on the site. Defiantly not true to color.

Light Pink is very clear and has a pearly finish. It's not sheer enough to be used as a top coat and not opaque enough to be used on its own, unless you keep your nails really nice and what not. I tried using it as a top coat with Bubble Gum... If applied nicely its a cute pink color with a pearly finish. However, I would not recommend doing this because this shade applies on streaky. I would NOT recommend this color! Picture on website is mostly true to color,'cept in person you can see how clear it is in the bottle.

Clear has been pretty nice so far.

(In a few days I will update with their ship resistance! so far everything good, its been about 12 hours!)

Elf's Hypershine Lip Gloss - Vixin
(With)

(without)
The texture is nice compared to the other glosses in the Essential line. To be honest I'm afraid of red colors, but its sheer enough to add a pop of brightness! I defiantly see myself buying this again!

As you can see, vixin is more red than coral, which is on the site. The above swatches are my own and the bottom are from their site.

Welcome to my blog! Everyday I will post swatches of  makeup I've bought from ELF and give a review!

I couldn't find a blog that just had swatches from more than one line, so I decided to make my own.

I promise you one swatch everyday or every other day.
